Plenty of modern-day Mac users started out on old PCs. However, running old PC software on modern Macs requires DOSBox, a capable but sometimes fiddly and obtuse emulator (in part due to DOS itself being fiddly and obtuse). A far better bet is Boxer, a version of DOSBox designed specifically for Macs and ease of use.
- This version still runs on an Intel based Macintosh with minimum Mac OS X 10.6 installed.
The famously awful E.T. game for the Atari 2600 actually sold more than its most famous game, Space Invaders. E.T. sold 1.5 million, while Invaders only shifted a million.

Or rather it isn't, because there are load of other systems you can also emulate on your Mac, but we're already way over word count and our editor is getting annoyed we're knee-deep in another game of Boulder Dash rather than filing this article. I apologize for cluttering up git with questions, but I can’t find docs for dummies anywhere. ;-) Does the app need to be compiled via Xcode or does it always need to be loaded through Xcode? Sure would be nice to have a for this emulator. It started off as an attempt at a more intelligent disassembler when I realized how much fun it really is to learn the hardware AND C++ programming at the same time while dealing with my all time favourite hobby.
